13 Samsung Telecommunications America Handsets Named Innovations 2008 Design and Engineering Awards

Samsung UbiCell Wins Best of Innovations

LAS VEGAS, -- Samsung Telecommunications America (Samsung) is honored with 13 International CES Innovations 2008 Design and Engineering Awards. Among wireless distributors, Samsung has won the most innovation honoree awards in 2008.

In the wireless handset accessories category, the Samsung UbiCell(TM) was named the Best of Innovations, which is awarded to the most highly honored products in each category. In addition to the UbiCell, four of Samsung's Bluetooth headsets were awarded as honorees, including the WEP420, an innovative slide design headset designed with Bang & Olufsen; the WEP410, a sleek canal type earpiece; the WEP500, an ultra slim circular designed headset approximately the size of a quarter; and the WEP430, a unique headset that wraps around the ear and holds the headset in a smooth, flat place over the ear canal.

Eight of Samsung's revolutionary handsets received Design and Engineering Honorees in the wireless handsets category, more than any other wireless distributor in 2008. The winning handsets include the UpStage(TM) by Samsung (SPH-m620), Juke(TM) by Samsung (SCH-u470), SCH-i760, FlipShot(TM) by Samsung (SCH-u900), SCH-u620, Samsung Blast(TM) (SGH-t729), Samsung BlackJack II(TM) (SGH-i617) and Fin(TM) by Samsung (SPH-a513).
