Dopod China plans to launch 12-13 new phones in China in 2008, targeting to double its sales volume in China from a year earlier, company COO Paul Hsu was quoted by media in China as saying.
In 2007, Dopod experienced a 200% on-year growth in both sales volume and value for handset sales in China, Hsu said, without providing detailed figures.
New phones launched in 2008 will mostly support 3G standards, including WCDMA, CDMA 2000 and TD-SCDMA, Hsu noted.
To further penetrate into the China market, Dopod plans to expand the number of its business outlets, including exclusive retail shops and sales agents, by 70-80 a month in 2008, Hsu remarked.
