New Flash Lite 2.0 tutorial, presenting phone data as dynamic animations
This new tutorial explains how data from a Sony Ericsson phone can be presented as dynamic Flash Lite™ 2.0 animations which can then be used as freestanding wallpapers (standby) or imported into a theme using the Sony Ericsson Themes Creator tool (version 3.29).
Guiding you through the creation and testing steps, this tutorial provides the code and demo files to build an animation of a high street representing battery, signal strength and time phone data.
This tutorial is written by ustwo™, a creative design studio specialising in pioneering graphical user interfaces for some of the world's leading brands. The pixel illustrations were created for ustwo by Gary Lucken, a pixel artist who produces illustrations and artwork for international clients and publications.

The Api_HighStreet_base.fla file supplied with this tutorial contains a library of all the assets needed to use the phone battery, signal strength and time data to create the animation. Instructions are set out in the following sections:

2. Testing the API High Street
Testing can be done using either Adobe© Device Central or a Sony Ericsson phone supporting Flash Lite 2.0. Step-by-step instructions are given.
Signal strength, time and battery status presented as buildings.
Sony Ericsson Themes Creator now supports Flash Lite
Flash Lite animations and graphics can now be included in a Sony Ericsson theme by using the Themes Creator tool (version 3.29) to import a SWF file to the Standby screen which is then displayed in the display area of the theme.
