Sprint Brings Enhanced Time-Saving Mobile Experience to Samsung ACE Users

Newly Available Software Update Enables Windows Mobile 6.1 and GPS

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. & DALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Sprint (NYSE:S) and Samsung Telecommunications America (Samsung Mobile) announced key enhancements, including GPS to support Sprint Navigation, Windows Mobile 6.1 and the addition of Office Mobile 6.1 for the Samsung ACE.

Introduced in February 2008, the ACE combines the familiarity of Windows Mobile with advanced multimedia features for accessing business and personal essentials. With quad-band capabilities, the Samsung ACE also operates globally on CDMA and GSM/GPRS networks where Sprint has international roaming agreements. The new software's downloading instructions are available at http://www.samsungmobileusa.com/i325/upgrade and offers:

- Enhanced GPS capabilities - Provides advanced GPS functionality and allows support of popular applications such as Sprint Navigation. Sprint Navigation provides audio and visual turn-by-turn directions, more than 10 million local listings, and one-click traffic rerouting on compatible phones, similar to an in-vehicle GPS system.
- Windows Mobile 6.1 - Brings new time-saving features, easier phone navigation and management, and stronger security safeguards. Users can get their phone set up and running easier than ever before. With mobile versions of the familiar Windows desktop applications, such as Microsoft Office and Live Search, they'll have information they need anytime, anywhere. Threaded text messaging enhances the messaging experience.
- Office Mobile 6.1 - Allows users to view and edit the latest versions of Microsoft Word and Excel documents. It also allows customers to view the latest versions of PowerPoint and PDFs.
- Installation of unsigned applications - The upgrade will allow for the installation of unsigned third-party applications, even those without certification.

"Sprint's commitment to providing time-saving features, along with the freedom to access and download the content they want and have a PC-like experience, is key," said Michael Hahn, vice president-Customer Equipment for Sprint. "Whether customers want to update their PowerPoint presentation, find a local restaurant with Live Search, get turn-by-turn driving directions, or just enjoy the simplicity of their handset, the Samsung ACE delivers it all so customers can have what they want now."

"The software upgrades make the Samsung ACE more powerful and easy-to-use than ever before," said Bill Ogle, Chief Marketing Officer for Samsung Mobile. "Our customers want to be able to do business whether they are in or out of the office and the ACE's new features make working while on-the-go even better."

The enhanced capabilities of the Samsung ACE combined with Sprint's $99.99 Simply Everything pricing plan delivers undeniable value to Sprint customers. The $99.99 Simply Everything plan offers customers unlimited voice and data and is available for any Sprint or Nextel handset. For families / group plan, "Simply Everything" includes an incremental $5 discount per line up to 5 lines. Pricing complexity and concerns about overage charges are virtually eliminated, letting customers think more about how they can use their wireless device for work and play and less about their bill. Existing Sprint customers can switch to the "Simply Everything" plan without extending their current contract. New line activations require a two-year agreement.

The ACE continues to be a premium smartphone in the Sprint portfolio, integrating the familiar Windows Mobile experience with a QWERTY keyboard and exclusive Sprint content like Sprint TV. The Samsung ACE is available in Sprint Stores, online at www.sprint.com and in Sprint business sales channels for $99.99, with a two-year service agreement and a $100 mail-in-rebate.
