AT&T Builds its First Fiber-To-The-Premise IP Network for Paragus Group Rental Community in Indiana

AT&T Provides U-verse Services to Bluestone Apartment Community in Greenfield, Ind.
Indianapolis, Indiana, July 1, 2009.

In AT&T's first fiber-to-the-premise (FTTP) network development for an apartment community in Indiana, AT&T* announced that it has built infrastructure to support AT&T U-verseSM services, delivered over AT&T’s advanced Internet Protocol (IP) network, in the Bluestone Apartments community — a master-planned rental development in Greenfield, Ind.

The agreement with Bluestone Apartments is part of the AT&T Connected CommunitiesSM program, a strategic marketing initiative between AT&T and regional or national single-family builders, developers, real estate investment trusts, apartment ownership and management groups, and home owners’ associations to provide next-generation communications and entertainment solutions to residents.

Through the agreement with AT&T Connected Communities, more than 200 multiple-dwelling units within Bluestone Apartments will be connected to IP-based video, high speed Internet and voice services.

AT&T U-verse brings together your TV, broadband, home phone and wireless services — all on one bill — with unique features that provide a new level of integration, convenience and control. AT&T U-verse offers multiple combinations of TV, Internet and Voice packages to customize your experience. AT&T U-verse TV ranked “Highest in Customer Satisfaction in the North Central Region,” according to the J.D. Power and Associates 2008 Residential Television Service Provider Satisfaction StudySM.

U-verse TV customers can enjoy numerous TV benefits, including the ability to watch recorded programs from a single DVR on any connected TV in the house with U-verse Total Home DVR; an extensive High Definition (HD) channel lineup with more than 100 HD channels; the ability to program DVR recordings from your Web-connected mobile phone or PC; personalized, on-screen weather, sports, traffic and stock information via AT&T U-bar; and more.

“We are proud to be the first in Indiana to bring advanced communications and entertainment services to a multi-unit residential community using AT&T’s fiber optic technology,” said Gary Ritz, president, Paragus Group. “With the AT&T Connected Communities deal, we’re able to offer our residents these state-of-the-art services, which are the perfect accompaniment to the many other amenities we offer at Bluestone.”

AT&T U-verse High Speed Internet offers faster available speeds. All U-verse Internet packages include wireless home or office networking at no extra cost, and unlimited access to the nation's largest Wi-Fi network.

“We’re pleased to equip Bluestone residents with fully-networked homes on our advanced IP network,” said Hardmon Williams III, general manager of AT&T Midwest. “This is the first Connected Communities agreement in Indiana that will deliver AT&T U-verse services directly to individual units through FTTP technology — a first-of-its-kind agreement in a local rental community — which speaks to Indiana leaders’ commitment to innovative progress and community growth.”

AT&T Connected Communities continues to grow and support the company’s communication and entertainment services, as developers and builders across the nation look for ways to answer the demands of today’s residents.

Bluestone Apartments are designed and crafted with a wealth of detail, offering residents 13 master floor plan options. Apartment homes are complemented by a clubhouse within the community, featuring a 24-hour fitness center, swimming pool, cyber-cafe, and theater. Upon completion in the spring of 2010, Bluestone will have a total of 208 apartment homes.
