Dayton, Ohio – The Montgomery County Department of Job & Family Services (MCDJFS) and Cricket Communications, a leading provider of unlimited wireless services, have teamed up to help local residents who are currently searching for employment.
Together, MDCJFS and Cricket will be providing “mini” job searching stations at local Cricket stores and authorized Cricket outlets. Each mini MCDJFS station will be equipped with a laptop computer and Cricket cell phones that can be used for job searches and related activities. The stations will be available during each Cricket store’s posted hours of operation and will be free of charge. These mini stations augment the services already provided by MCDJFS at the Job Center, located at 1111 Edwin C. Moses Blvd. in Dayton.
“This project will make job search tools even more accessible for Montgomery County residents and Cricket customers,” explains Montgomery County Commissioner Dan Foley. “In today’s tough economy, more people than ever are in need of job hunting assistance, and it’s great to have companies like Cricket that are willing to lend a helping hand to our residents.”
Cricket often seeks partnerships with local non-profit organizations to provide services to those in need.
The new program and partnership will launch with a kick off event hosted by MCDJFS and Cricket at the Clock Tower Cricket retail store on Friday, November 13, 2009. The store is located at 220 North Springboro Pike in Miamisburg, Ohio and the event will start at 2:00 p.m. County Commissioner Dan Foley will join representatives from Cricket and MCDJFS to answer questions and to celebrate the Phones to Help Job Hunters program.
