Is Google working on a QWERTY keyboard version of the HTC Magic? We certainly think so...

When Google launched the Nexus One a couple of weeks ago, it also indicated that there will be a business-centric model coming up with a sliding QWERTY keyboard. And there are rumours out there (with a render) that the 'Nexus two' might be a Motorola codenamed Shadow. That might be true but we also found today a user agent profile of the HTC Magic that would come with a QWERTY keyboard.

Now HTC could be planning to launch a version of the magic with a physical keyboard but there was something else that we found on the top of the file. The file has a copyright that belongs to Google and not HTC Corporation as it should. In fact, the only place where HTC appears is in the tab for the vendor's name.

So could HTC score a double date with Google with the Nexus Two? We dunno, for sure, but the signs do seem omnious. In fact, there is a part of us that wishes Google to say it isn't so. After all, being stuck with an year-old phone with just a sliding QWERTY keyboard won't be the sort of successor to the Nexus One, no?
