Downloads will be available to own or rent.

Featuring a host of premium content from major Hollywood studios, Samsung Movies provides consumers with regularly updated, instant access to the latest Hollywood releases. Over 500 blockbusters such as The Dark Knight, RocknRolla and Ironman and hit TV series, including Gossip Girl, E.R. and Friends, can be downloaded and viewed on video enabled Samsung phones such as the new Samsung Tocco Ultra Edition. Customers will also be able to access TV shows with exclusive ‘first look’ content.

The service, which can be accessed at www.samsungmovies.com will be rolled out initially in the UK and Germany* before being available in other key European markets later in 2009. The store will allow Samsung customers to make the most of the new AMOLED screen technology within the 2009 Samsung range.

The Samsung Tocco Ultra Edition features a 2.8” Active Matrix Organic Light Emitting Diode (AMOLED) full touch screen, which offers astonishingly bright, clear and brilliant colours, perfect for watching movies on the move. The Tocco Ultra Edition also gives 4 hours and 20 minutes of continuous movie viewing on a full charge, meaning you can watch two full movies back to back. Additional devices will be compatible with the Samsung Movies store as they come to market in 2009.

“Movies direct from the Hollywood Studios showcase our new Samsung touch screen phones such as the Samsung Tocco Ultra Edition with its industry leading high quality AMOLED screen”, said Nick Turner-Samuels, Head of Content at Samsung Mobile UK. “We’re very excited to be able to provide existing and future customers access to their favourite movies and TV shows across a number of different Samsung platforms.
