Nokia has made its video codec H.264/MPEG-4 MVC open

The company Nokia announced today that its video codec H.264/MPEG-4 MVC, which is standardized by the Radiocommunication (ITU-R) International Telecommunication Union (ITU), is becoming popular, including its source code. It states the company, the source code is fully optimized for use in various mobile devices and includes a player for the platform Maemo, making many problems for developers.
