Globe to bring web 2.0 applications to mobile users

Nokia Siemens Networks’ Service Delivery Framework to help operator improve time to market, and reduce costs.

Globe Telecommunications, one of the leading communication service providers in the Philippines can now offer Web 2.0 services and roll out new promotional service packages up to 10 times faster than before. Nokia Siemens Networks, in collaboration with IBM, has implemented a Service Delivery Framework for the operator, which offers an agile and efficient service creation environment, and dramatically reduces the time to market for new services, and associated costs.

“Success is for those who are quick to capitalize upon available market opportunities and are able to keep their customers satisfied,” said Mario Domingo, Head of Product Design and Creation at Globe. “This means being in tune with changing market trends, more responsive to customer needs, and driving innovation to capture new opportunities in growth areas. Guided by Nokia Siemens Networks’ service led approach, we hope to be able to launch and maintain a portfolio of innovative applications that increase customer stickiness.”

Nokia Siemens Networks’ Service Delivery Framework, delivered with IBM, consolidates diverse platforms and evolving services allowing operators to introduce new, revenue generating applications quickly and cost efficiently. Incorporating best of breed third party software, it represents a true solution approach where Nokia Siemens Networks utilizes its end to end knowledge of the network and business to deliver operators a first mover advantage.

Said Tapani Sairanen, Customer Team Head at Nokia Siemens Networks, “The Service Delivery Framework is already showing results – it helped Globe create an incentive program targeted at students within 2.5 weeks – an exercise that would otherwise have taken several months to complete.

This is just one example. We are confident that our insights into end-user needs and sound understanding of Globe’s business challenges, combined with the strong systems integration and consulting capabilities, will give Globe the required edge to race ahead of competition.”

One of Globe’s initial suppliers since 1993, Nokia Siemens Networks was selected on the basis of its intimate knowledge of the operator’s needs.
