London, UK - Shazam, the world's leading mobile music discovery provider celebrates winning the 2009 ME Best Music Services Provider Award for the second year running. Shazam accepted the award last night in recognition of Shazam's industry leading mobile music discovery application for the iPhone.
CEO Andrew Fisher says of the win; "This award is testament to the dedication of our team to offer our customers the very best mobile music discovery experience. We're continually developing our technology to deliver the applications and features our customers want, and it's really a great honour to be voted best music services provided by the readers of Mobile Entertainment."
Tim Green, executive editor at ME Magazine, said: "Well done to Shazam, which has had another amazing year. It's one of the few mobile content brands that has achieved mainstream recognition and - thanks to the app store phenomenon - is now enjoying a fresh surge in popularity. It was a clear winner, and I'm sure it will be back to defend its 'title' at next year's event."
Shazam has enjoyed rapid growth over the past year and is widely recognised as the leading service across the world for music fans to capture, share and purchase songs wherever and whenever they hear music using just their mobile. In just over a year since it launched, Shazam is still one of the most popular applications in the Apple App Store having been downloaded by over 8 million iPhone users worldwide.
