Assassin's Creed III trailer unveiled after fans social networking campaign

A preview video of the next instalment of Assassin’s Creed has been released  - and boy, does it look good.

Set in Boston, during the American Revolutionary War, there’s plenty of bloodthirsty violence, some cigar smoking and even a hungry bear to whet our gaming appetite.

The game itself introduces a new assassin who goes by the name of Connor, while the enemy appears to be those darn Brits, with the real-life Battle of Bunker Hill being the backdrop.

The trailer was unveiled on the official Assassin’s Creed III website after 1,776,000 fans “united to unlock” the video by tweeting and posting on Facebook about the game.

So great is the anticipation of the game that it only took three days for the magic number to be reached.

The only dampener is that Assassin’s Creed III won’t be arriving until 31 October 2012 though Xbox 360, PC and PlayStation 3 gamers can pre-order the game now by visiting the game’s website.
