HTC to start shipping HTC TyTN II 3.5G handsets to Emobile

High Tech Computer (HTC) will soon begin shipping its HTC TyTN II 3.5G handset to Japan-based mobile telecom operator Emobile, which will market the device as the S11HT, according to market sources.

The Windows Mobile-based S11HT is powered by a Qualcomm MSM 7200 400GHz processor.

Emobile will use the S11HT and another 3.5G handset, the H11T, from Toshiba, to promote its voice roaming service in cooperation with NTT DoCoMo, the sources said.

With the shipments of the S11HT, Emobile will become HTC's third major client of mobile telecom operator in Japan, following the establishment of business ties with NTT DoCoMo and Softbank Mobile.

NTT DoCoMo is expected to start marketing its second HTC handset in April this year, while Softbank Mobile is to launch its third HTC handset during the same month, the sources indicated.
