Cheshire Police the Latest UK force to Migrate to Motorola TETRA Terminals

Contract won for the delivery of mobile and handheld radio devices and remote management solutions.

LONDON, UK – Motorola, Inc. (NYSE:MOT), world leader in the development and deployment of TETRA communication solutions, has been awarded a contract by the Cheshire Police Authority to supply officers with mobile and handheld TETRA terminals. Motorola will supply the advanced handheld TETRA radio devices, the MTP850 and MTM800E.The rugged terminals and mobiles have a similar interface to a mobile phone and the Cheshire Force will be able to get up and running straight away with a whole host of advanced communication methods safe in the knowledge that the Motorola technology is tried, tested and ultra reliable.

These reliable and field proven devices have been specifically designed to meet the demands of front line police officers. They combine an uncompromising mix of safety features, smart ergonomics and robust design. Both terminals feature fully integrated voice and data services.

Motorola will also supply its Integrated Terminal Management (iTM) Solution that will allow Cheshire to remotely and efficiently manage the software and configurations of every radio terminal from a central location. The iTM remote programming system, improves the speed and reliability with which software updates can be carried out contributing to Officer safety as well as efficient management and security of the terminals. Motorola has already supplied similar systems to Norfolk Constabulary and Northumbria Police as well as other UK forces.
