SiRFatlasIV combines a GPS-receiver and a multimedia processor

The company SiRF Technology Holdings has announced a combined platform SiRFatlasIV. Chipset combines 64-channel GPS-receiver and a processor with ARM kernel 11, which works with a clock speed of 500 MHz. This platform provides not only a GPS-navigation, but also a wide range of multimedia features, including video decoding.

Chipset SiRFatlasIV can be used in various mobile devices. The platform is equipped with a hardware accelerator video post-processing, designed to work with the standards of mobile TV DVB-H, T-DMB and CMMB. In addition, it is equipped with integrated NAND and SD-controllers, touch screen controller, 10-bit analog-digital converter, video, and support USB 2.0. In doing so, the use of highly sensitive GPS-receiver can reduce the size of the receiving antenna and the device as a whole.
According to the manufacturer's interest in the use of the platform were the company ASUS, Foxconn, Navigon, Wistron, Nextar, etc. chipset also formed the basis of GPS-navigators Navigon 3300 max, Nextar Q4-MD and YF International 82A.
