VeriCall Communicator Architecture

VeriCall Communicator provides manufacturers with an embedded software platform for designing voice and video communications functionality into IP-connected devices.

The primary components of VeriCall Communicator include:

Media Processing Library
A range of narrowband and wideband voice codecs, acoustic echo cancellation (AEC) and other audio quality enhancement algorithms for delivering IP communications services across a range of silicon platforms. Video support for H.264, H.263 and MPEG-4, up to 30 fps VGA.

Packet Handling
Adaptive Jitter Buffer Management (AJBM) and packet framing using Real Time Protocol (RTP) / Real Time Control Protocol (RTCP). Adaptive Jitter Buffer Management is a dynamic packet management solution that improves audio quality and minimizes latency by reducing lost audio packets and providing integrated synchronization between voice and video streams (audio / video synchronization).

Data Manager Interface (DMI)
An abstraction layer that provides developers with complete control of the device drivers running on the target platform. This interface allows developers to add, remove and control connections to the audio, video devices, hardware accelerated video functions and much more, on the target platform.

Portable

VeriCall software runs on a variety of general purpose processors, SOCs and DSPs. Broad processor supports offers manufacturers the freedom and flexibility to choose the silicon platform that is the best fit for their product — based on its individual functionality and power/performance requirements.

VeriCall Communicator is available as a voice-only solution or as an integrated voice + video solution.
