LG Electronics (LGE) plans to launch Ophones based on China Mobile's Open Mobile System (OMS) in the fourth quarter of 2009, the China-based sina.com has reported citing sources at LGE China.
In addition to LGE, three other vendors – Dopod, Lenovo and Dell – are also expected to launch their respective Ophones in China before the end of this year, sina.com said.
Although Samsung Electronics and Motorola also plan to climb on the Ophone bandwagon, Ophones from the two vendors are unlikely to hit the market till 2010, sina.com said citing sources at China-based market research firm BDA China.
