3D multi-touch from Nokia: responding to the force pressing the

Among the documents the U.S. Patent Office has been found an interesting application from Nokia. It describes the so-called 3D multi-touch. This is a finger touch interface, which allows for device management, not only by moving a few fingers on the display and the various movements, but also by force pressing. That is, the effect is a kind, and in the direction of the third axis of coordinates - in depth.

3D multi-touch to be implemented, particularly on mobile devices with capacitive sensors, displays and a set of efforts. It is not clear whether the technology is still at the stage of concept or Nokia is already working on prototypes and preparing commercial samples. It is likely that this technology, unlike many patents, will not remain on paper only, and Nokia still launch mobile devices with support for 3D multi-touch.
