England, -- Red Bend Software, the market leader in Mobile Software Management (MSM), has been selected to deliver two presentations at next week's Symbian Exchange and Exposition (SEE 2009) in London at Earls Court 2, where it is also exhibiting at Stand 55. The first presentation is part of SEE 2009's "Device Creation and Contributing to Symbian" speaker's theme while the other is an informal roundtable discussion, part of SEE's "Birds of a Feather" (BoF) track.
Morten Grauballe, Red Bend's EVP of Products, will present "Mobile Software Management and Open Source: The Key to Addressing Consumer Demand" on Tuesday (Oct. 27) at 3:30 p.m. (15:30) at the "Device Creation and Contributing to Symbian" Workshop Theater. Grauballe will define MSM and examine its impact on open source platforms like Symbian OS. He will discuss software modularity and delivery and how they relate to MSM. Grauballe also will explain how MSM is an integral part of the mobile user experience--including new services like app stores. He will conclude with his "calls for action," including how the Symbian Foundation community needs to continue to build good software, why service providers must allow "everyone" to innovate and why ISVs must select platform support carefully.
Richard Kinder, Red Bend's VP of Technology and New Business for Europe, will lead the BoF session called "Over-the-Air (OTA) Software Updating Fulfills Customers' Changing Needs" on Wednesday (Oct. 28) at 2 p.m. (14:00), which is occurring on the Main Stage. Kinder will highlight how staying on top of consumers' rapidly changing needs is a necessity in the new software-driven world of mobile devices. His discussion group will focus on how over-the-air software updating creates a richer mobile user experience by delivering new features, applications and services on-demand.
