Wistron expected to see strong growth of non-notebook businesses in 2010

Wistron's non-notebook product lines including smartphones, LCD TVs, desktops and LCD monitors are all expected to see strong shipment growth in 2010, helping to reduce the company's revenue share from notebooks to below 70%, according to market watchers.

Smartphone orders from RIM to Wistron are expected to increase from just hundreds of thousands of units in the fourth quarter of 2009 to account for 90% of the maker's estimated total shipments of 3-6 million units in 2010.

Wistron is expected to ship five million LCD TVs in 2010 due to existing clients releasing more orders, alongside orders from new clients.

Wistron shipped about four million desktops in 2009 and is expected to ship more than 8.5 million units in 2010. The company will also aim to ship 100,000 all-in-one PCs per month, or more than one million units in total for the year.

Wistron is aiming to ship 11 million LCD monitors in 2010, up 40% compared to eight million units in 2009.

Additionally, Wistron is expected to ship 30 million notebooks in 2010, up 16% on year, the sources added.
