The company Fujitsu Microelectronics Limited today announced the launch of multformatnogo-chip decoder with support for decoding SD (Standard Definition - standard definition) video formats MPEG-2 and H.264, which is used in digital broadcasting in Russia, Eastern Europe and China. Test samples of a chip MB86H01 new series will begin shipped from December 1 this year.

This new product supports the standard DVB television, used in the above regions, with integrated MPEG-2 decoder and H.264 video to receive standard definition video (SD). Laid down in its own chip design and technology have resulted in low energy consumption and small size, which makes it ideal for use in portable devices such as personal navigation devices with built-in TV receiver.

Standard DVB digital TV broadcasting is used in Europe, Russia and parts of China. There are currently receiving SD TV signals are widely used in the encoding of MPEG-2, but, as expected, the new generation H.264 compression format will increase its turnover in Eastern Europe, including Russia. In addition, H.264 format used in some cable networks of China for services VoD (video on demand). It is the gradual migration from one format to another in Russia and Eastern Europe, will be the way for devices based on the chip said that voyu turn adds them to the attractiveness of the consumer. That is precisely the principles described in the company Fujitsu Microelectronics has decided to release to the market a new MB86H01 series chips, which includes two SD Multi dekodara (MB86H01 AA / MB86H01 AB) both support the MPEG-2 and H.264.
