Vodafone Group PLC is planning to eliminate hundreds of jobs at its U.K. operations in an effort to streamline costs, according to a Bloomberg News report on Sunday. The world's largest mobile-phone company will announce the cuts on Tuesday, the report said, citing people familiar with the matter. Vodafone earlier this month posted a 14% rise in third-quarter sales and lifted its outlook for the year to reflect the pound's decline. Chief Executive Vittorio Colao said Feb. 3 the company is on track with its cost-cutting measures and expects savings of roughly 500 million pounds by the end of fiscal-year 2010.
