Swift Transportation Selects AT&T as Primary Communications Provider

AT&T* and Swift Transportation Inc., a large privately held long haul trucking company, announced that Swift has awarded AT&T a three-year contract valued at $24 million. Under the terms of the agreement, AT&T will provide Swift a unified voice and data network and a streamlined set of wireless solutions to help Swift offer improved customer service internally and externally, optimize IT expense and increase revenue.

Swift sought a wide-ranging set of communications services from AT&T to support its expansive business which includes strong regional operations, a 17,000-truck fleet, an expedited transcontinental business and a comprehensive Intermodal transport package. Under the terms of the contract, AT&T will provide a robust set of solutions, including Virtual Private Network (VPN) service to more than 125 corporate locations in the U.S. and Mexico and all wireless services for corporate and employee use.

Using AT&T’s services and resources, Swift augments its own IT team, consolidates its Contact Center voice and data traffic onto one network and centralizes wireless and wireline applications.

Swift Transportation also will have around-the-clock access to real-time information about the performance of its networking services and a direct connection to electronic billing and ordering systems through the reliable and award-winning AT&T BusinessDirect® portal.
