Ukrainian mobile operator «Kyivstar GSM» chose Ericsson as the supplier of equipment for upgrading and expanding network coverage GSM / EDGE and alert the operator of network resources for the introduction of third generation services across the country.
As stated in the companies, as Ukraine prepares for the upcoming issuance of licenses for providing third generation services (3G), subscribers «Kyivstar» virtually throughout the country will have access to multimedia services and telephony services. This will be possible thanks to the expansion and upgrading of networks GSM / GPRS / EDGE operator. Ericsson plans to increase capacity and coverage area backbone network radio «Kyivstar». Increased capacity for more than 30%, prepare network «Kyivstar» to the expected growth of data in the future.
The carrying capacity of the backbone network will be increased by using solutions Ericsson Mobile Softswitch, which allow the operator with your words, rapidly and efficiently introduce new high-quality services, ensuring a transition to a network of fully working on IP-technology in the future. The agreement also includes expanding the network of radio communication, the installation of equipment, system integration, technical support and training.
