USB 3.0 - SATA bridge from Fujitsu for PC-peripheral

Japanese company Fujitsu Microelectronics today announced the start of shipments of the first, with her words, chip USB 3.0 - SATA bridge that supports data transfer mode SuperSpeed USB. This mode is part of the standard specifications of USB 3.0 and allows you to transfer data at a maximum speed of up to 5 Gbit / s between the external data storage devices such as hard drives, and a personal computer.

The new chip, MB86C30A, the first in a series MB86C30 Chipset USB 3.0-SATA bridges being built in the PC peripheral devices, will provide them an opportunity to transmit data at speeds that exceed 10 times the speed provided by modern standards, the current devices, USB 2.0. In addition to the actual functions of USB 3.0 bridge, the new chip offers a mechanism for high-speed encryption / decryption of data without sacrificing the very speed of their transfer on USB 3.0 port.
