Tecom wins more ROADM equipment orders from CHT

Taiwan-based telecom equipment maker Tecom has won its third open bid from Chunghwa Telecom (CHT) for ROADM (reconfigurable optical add/drop multiplexing) equipment, according to the company.

The ROADM contract, CHT's third purchasing project for such equipment, will be completed by the end of 2009, Tecom noted.

Tecom will build the ROADM systems based on Ericsson's 40 Gbps multihaul WDM (wavelength division multiplexing) solution, the Marconi MHL 3000, the company revealed.

The value of the deal was not disclosed but industry sources estimated the amount to be exceeding NT$500 million (US$15.15 million).
