SiPix Imaging Inc, AU Optronics division deals with development and production of electronic paper could become the first companies to present to the market color electronic paper. This will occur in the second half of next year. Currently SiPix, like any other company, supplies the market with only black and white version, which is engaged in the production plant in the United States.
However, after the creation of thin film transistor panel by AU Optronics, president SiPix Andrew Zenn (Andrew Tseng) expects to begin production of color electronic ink in the next year. According to him, this is a priority, since the creation of color options to attract the interest of advertisers and will make electronic books and newspapers free of charge.
