All top eight, female tennis players announced for forthcoming 2009 Sony Ericsson Championships, Doha

After a thrilling, hard-fought season, the definitive list of the world’s top eight female singles players who qualified for the 2009 Sony Ericsson Championships are announced.

London – Excitement ahead of the much-anticipated 2009 Sony Ericsson Championships reached a pinnacle today as the final line up of the world’s top eight female singles tennis players to take part, was revealed. The world’s top eight singles and top four doubles teams will compete against each other for the coveted season-end title and share of US $4.55 million prize.

Once again, taking place at the Khalifa Stadium, Doha, Qatar from October 27 – November 1, 2009 for the second time, the Championships are set to be an electrifying end to the 2009 Sony Ericsson WTA Tour season.
