“ARE YOU SMARTER THAN A 5TH GRADER?™ 2010” Goes To The Head Of The Class On Verizon Wireless Phones

Latest Edition Of The Blockbuster Trivia Phenomenon Now Available On Verizon Wireless.

SAN DIEGO, BASKING RIDGE, NJ, and LOS ANGELES — From CTIA WIRELESS I.T. & Entertainment 2009® in San Diego, Verizon Wireless, builder and operator of the nation’s most reliable wireless voice and data network, and Capcom® Mobile in conjunction with Fox Mobile Entertainment announced the release of the latest edition of the hit mobile game “ARE YOU SMARTER THAN A 5TH GRADER?™ 2010” for Verizon Wireless phones.

Based on the hit primetime game show, “ARE YOU SMARTER THAN A 5TH GRADER?™ 2010” features all the charm, humor and deceptively difficult questions that make the television show a household name. In the game, players are asked a series of up to 11 questions ranging from subjects such as U.S. history, math or social studies. Perform well, and players can work their way up to the $1 million question. Choke, and players will be forced to utter the unenviable phrase: “I am not smarter than a 5th grader.”

“Verizon Wireless has one of the best virtual storefronts in mobile, and we’re very excited to be premiering ‘ARE YOU SMARTER THAN A 5TH GRADER?™ 2010’ on their network,” said Midori Yuasa, president, Capcom Interactive, Inc. “The 5TH Grader games have set the standard for mobile trivia, and our recent release ups the ante even more.”

The all-new, half-hour version of “ARE YOU SMARTER THAN A 5TH GRADER?” airs five days a week in national syndication, as well as on CMT. In addition, MyNetworkTV premiered the game show in primetime on Sept. 29 with back-to-back episodes now airing every Tuesday night at 8 p.m. ET/PT. Comedian Jeff Foxworthy hosts this atypical game show that measures adults’ lack of knowledge as revealed by how much they’ve forgotten since grammar school. Grownups find themselves in a classroom setting, revisiting their youth, as they tackle subjects they were taught years ago ranging from art to geography and math to social studies. In “ARE YOU SMARTER THAN A 5TH GRADER?” however, the players are not alone and there is a way for contestants to “cheat” in this classroom. The adults have the opportunity to get some help in the form of elementary advice from real fifth graders who always seem to know more than the contestants.

Verizon Wireless customers can purchase and download “ARE YOU SMARTER THAN A 5TH GRADER?™ 2010” from the TV/Movie/Music category on their Verizon Wireless phones. “ARE YOU SMARTER THAN A 5TH GRADER?™ 2010” is available for $7.99 for unlimited use or a $3.49 monthly subscription on more than 40 popular phones from Verizon Wireless, including the LG enV® TOUCH, the LG Versa™, and the Motorola Rival™. Download charges vary and airtime or megabyte charges may apply when browsing, downloading and using certain applications.
