Shipments of mobile phones increased by 37% compared to the same period last year and by 6% compared with the previous quarter to 31.6 million units. These figures are due to strong growth in sales in emerging markets and European markets, achieved through such models as the KP500 and phones for messaging, despite a slight drop in sales in North America and Korea. The change in prices coupled with increased sales of models of low-price segment have led to lower profitability compared to the second quarter.
