U.S. Cellular Provides Year-long Cell Service to Organization.
GOLDSBORO, N.C., - U.S. Cellular & Boys and Girls Clubs of Wayne County have joined forces to help meet the budgetary constraints of the nonprofit, which provides a positive place for kids ages 6-18 to go after school. U.S. Cellular donated five wireless handsets and a year of cellular service. Executive Director Mary Ann Dudley and program staff will use the phones to communicate between the four club locations as well as to connect staff to parents, board members, and potential donors.
"To make sure our kids are safe at all times, we need to be able to communicate quickly and easily," said Mary Ann Dudley, executive director, Boys & Girls Clubs of Wayne County. "These phones will give us all peace of mind."
The Boys & Girls Clubs of Wayne County serve approximately 1800 youth by offering age-appropriate diversified programming in five core areas. Trained professional staff provide members with the opportunity to learn, grow, give back to the community, discover their needs, set goals and meet new friends. The mission of the Clubs is to inspire and enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to realize their full potential as productive, responsible and caring citizens.
