MegaFon opens its own Research and Development Center in St. Petersburg

Operator MegaFon said on the opening single of the Federal Research and Development Center in St. Petersburg. Investment in the project amounted to 200 million rubles. The Center will be centralized testing of new equipment, as well as studies of unique technological solutions and products that will not only reduce the transaction costs of MegaFon, but also contribute to the technological development of Russia's telecommunications industry. In addition, the Center will host internships for students of the leading Russian universities. Education, full time and distance, will be free.

Federal Research and Development Center opened in St. Petersburg, as it is unique for Russia is built on quality and extent of the infrastructure of third generation mobile communication. Petersburg specialists have experience of working with new equipment and are willing to share these experiences with colleagues from other regions. Partners in the new project are the leading telecommunications equipment provider Nokia Siemens Networks (NSN) and Huawei.
