vRapid Mobile® Is One of the Most Widely Deployed Software Products in Mobile Phone Industry.

WALTHAM, Mass. -- Red Bend Software, the market leader in Mobile Software Management (MSM), today announced that its market-leading mobile software management client, vRapid Mobile®, was named to the VisionMobile 100 Million Club for the third consecutive year. The VisionMobile 100 Million Club recognizes software products that have reached the distinction of being embedded in more than 100 million mobile handsets worldwide. "Of the 300 companies that provide embedded software for mobile handsets, Red Bend is in the top five percent of vendors globally, in terms of shipments," said VisionMobile Research Director Andreas Constantinou in this H1 2009 update. "This is a significant accomplishment, given the commercial and technological complexities inherent in the mobile industry. Red Bend's vRapid Mobile continues to be adopted because over-the-air software updating is a vital enabler to improving the mobile user experience with new features and functionality."

Red Bend's MSM client, vRapid Mobile, is the leading solution for updating firmware over the air (FOTA) and managing software components over the air (SCOTA). Independent market research firm Ovum recently named Red Bend the leader in FOTA updating with 64% market share. In addition, Red Bend provides the leading independent device management (DM) client adopted by more than 30 manufacturers of wirelessly connected devices including mobile phones, WiMAX modems and machine-to-machine (M2M) modules.

Updated semi-annually, VisionMobile's 100 Million Club celebrates software businesses that have succeeded in establishing a significant share in the mobile handset market. Products are divided into five categories: application environments, browsers, operating systems, and input engines and middleware, which includes vRapid Mobile.
