Yota launched Mobile WiMAX in Nicaragua

Yota company announces the beginning of test operation of its Mobile WiMAX network in the capital of Nicaragua - Managua. As planned, 4G-network Yota in the capital of Nicaragua, was deployed in record-breaking string - 3 months after the start of its construction. The project was implemented with the support of the state corporation Rostekhnologii, which is the beneficiary of the company's Yota.

International tender for the frequency of 2,5-2,7 GHz to assist in the territory of Nicaragua telecommunications services based on Mobile WiMAX technology was announced by the Government in July 2009. The winner of the open tender was the company Yota, which is one of the world leaders to build networks of Mobile WiMAX. At the launch on the network Yota in Nicaragua, the press conference which was attended by representatives of the Rostekhnologii », WiMAX Forum, as well as Intel and Samsung - are strategic partners Yota, journalists were told in detail about the project and its prospects. Yota will begin its work with the provision of wireless broadband Internet access. In the future the company plans to increase available services, with emphasis will be placed on high quality voice services, due to market needs.

For users, individuals and legal entities, will give a broad line of service Yota, developed as part of Russia project company, and created for them, several types of devices: USB-modems, routers, and laptops from leading manufacturers. Especially for the Nicaraguan project to market the country will appear stationary device for VoIP-calls and a number of cheap netbooks with built-in support for Mobile WiMAX.

In the near future will be handed out to 500 devices volunteers who will enjoy Internet access and services to determine the quality and coverage. During the 2010 planned expansion and development of the network, in mid-year will be launched full commercial service.
