Sprint Offers M2M, Enterprise Business Continuity in 2010 with Introduction of World's First Gobi Embedded Router from Top Global

Collaboration provides affordable, global Mobile Broadband access with critical fail-safe features for M2M sensors and enterprise networking to support business continuity, digital signage, wireless point-of-sales, in-vehicle data solutions and more.

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. -- Sprint (NYSE:S) announced the certification of the first-ever Gobi embedded router, the Top Global MB7900, which also is powered by America's Most Dependable 3G Network.* Qualcomm's GobiTM technology gives customers the freedom of secure mobile Internet connectivity on the Sprint 3G Mobile Broadband network as well as virtually anywhere in the world via Sprint roaming partner networks** just by reprogramming the software.

Machine-to-machine (M2M) equipment, sensor and control panel manufacturers also can more simply and cost-effectively develop global solutions with Gobi technology, because the single embedded router is easily scalable and reprogrammable to support multiple wireless networks worldwide.

The Top Global MB7900 supports all key 2G/3G standards offering rapid Internet access and GPS functionality in a convenient, affordable and portable package that can fit in any M2M equipment, sensor and control panel. The MB7900 links Sprint's Third Generation (3G) cellular network with existing Wi-Fi, GPS, LAN, WAN, Serial and USB-enabled devices. Other features, such as the built-in auto-failover, allow for different configurations of WAN networks and GPS tracking systems.

"We are excited to be the first to offer the Top Global MB7900, and it is a great addition to our industry-leading portfolio of M2M embedded devices available from Sprint," said Wayne Ward, vice president of Emerging Solutions, Sprint. "The network scalability and dependability of the MB7900 make it an ideal choice for applications in business continuity, homeland security, mobile surveillance, digital signage, vending/retailing/point of sales, in-vehicle data connectivity and asset management."

The MB7900 enables customers who do business internationally to send and receive large amounts of data at broadband speeds via embedded Qualcomm Gobi technology with EV-DO Rev. A. It will enable average upload speeds of 400-700 kbps and download speeds of between 600 kbps and 1.4 Mbps.

"Qualcomm's Gobi technology delivers a new level of flexibility, providing data capabilities over both EV-DO and HSPA networks, as well as GPS functionality almost anywhere in the world via leading 3G networks," said Barry Matsumori, vice president of product management for Qualcomm CDMA Technologies. "We are pleased to see Sprint and Top Global taking advantage of our Gobi solution to offer their customers a scalable and accessible way to increase their productivity."

"We are delighted to collaborate with Sprint and Qualcomm to launch the world's first global router for enterprise networking and M2M applications," said Dr. Alan Zhen Zhou, president and CTO, Top Global. "Enabled by our patented MobileBridgeTM technology, the MB7900 comes with rich security features, including SPI Firewall, Anti-attack, URL filter, IPSec VPN client, and Remote Central Management (RCM) capabilities for device management, firmware upgrade, configuration, Sprint service activation and provisioning, etc."

Targeting M2M applications designed to benefit enterprises, small to mid-size businesses and small office home office (SOHO) customers, the MB7900 offers a scalable, reliable and affordable solution to quickly deploy a multitude of wireless networks. The MB7900 is available for purchase in tandem with Sprint's Mobile Broadband Data Access Plan, which is also ideally suited for small businesses that want to enhance productivity by being connected just about anywhere they go.

In October, Sprint announced the formation of its Emerging Solutions Business group, which focuses exclusively on the rapid delivery of M2M and mobile computing solutions to businesses and consumers. Sprint's partnership with Top Global builds on more than 10 years of experience in working with vendors to provision non-Sprint-branded devices to operate on its networks, as well as extensive expertise in operating multiple platforms and assets.
