On the occasion of Tim Cook's letter of apology yesterday I had complained that Apple had touted the half-finished map service in the run ever so sensational. Now it looks as if Apple's own eulogies have become embarrassing. In any case, the claim was, Maps is probably the "most beautiful, powerful mapping service ever" now available from apple.com / ios / maps / removed and replaced with a much more subtle:
On the company's Web site can be found at least currently (10:30 clock) still claim that the new Maps.app was one of "the most powerful and literally most remarkable navigation and map services."
