Edimax introduced a new wireless access point

Edimax Technology, manufacturer of networking equipment, introduced another new product series nMax: EW-7416APn. This wireless access point standard 802.11n, can be used as a stand-alone bridge or as a separate wireless access point when connected to an existing switch or router. When you connect EW-7416APn provides high-speed Internet access to many users, but also allows to build a reliable and secure wireless network for sharing photos, video, music files, as well as for connecting printers and storage devices. Standard connection 802.11n, EW-7416APn gives speed wireless connection up to 300 Mbitsek and compared with standard devices 802.11b / g significantly increases the coverage of the wireless network.



A characteristic of EW-7416APn is to support the regime Universal Repeater Mode, and features Wireless Distribution System (WDS), the existence of which meet modern requirements of the wireless network to increase the signal strength and network coverage. WDS function allows this device to function as an access point and repeater at the same time. This feature makes the EW-7416APn not only an ideal solution for installation in the design and complex and large institutions like hospitals or schools, it is also ideal for public places deployment of Wi-Fi network (hotels, universities, airports, etc.) which, in turn, require multiple access points.

Like all other products nMax series of Edimax, access point EW-7416APn supports the protection of wireless Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS), which is easily determined by WPS button on the router. In addition, the device has a range of security settings: WEP-encryption, WPA/WPA2, access control MAC, TKIP, AES, IEEE 802.1x authentication and multi-ESSID. Moreover, EW-7416APn equipped with two movable antennas, which are to increase the wireless signal may be replaced by other antennas.
