AT&T Wins Stevie Award for Technology in 2009 Stevie Awards for Sales and Customer Service

The AT&T* BusinessDirect® portfolio received a Stevie® Award in the category of "Best Use of Technology in Customer Service" at the third annual Stevie Awards for Sales & Customer Service held Feb. 10 in Las Vegas. AT&T BusinessDirect was recognized for its customer features and ability to integrate with mobile applications.

AT&T's eSales and Services organization also was recognized as a Stevie Awards finalist in the category of "Online Sales Team of the Year."

In presenting the award to AT&T, the Stevie Awards committee acknowledged the ability of AT&T BusinessDirect users to access its eMaintenance application over practically any wireless Internet-enabled device to launch and remotely monitor the network maintenance process from beginning to end. The committee also cited the AT&T BusinessDirect Mobile service that allows customers to receive key reports and text message alerts via wireless devices.

"It's gratifying to have AT&T's eSales and Service team recognized by the Stevie Awards as industry leaders and innovators," said John Cushman, vice president-AT&T eSales and Services. "Being honored by the Stevie Awards in this way is further proof of AT&T's continued commitment to deliver the best online customer service in the industry."

The AT&T BusinessDirect portfolio combines management and support-reporting tools into a single, extranet site that provides users with increased visibility and cost control over their network performance and investments. Each month, hundreds of thousands of AT&T business customers conduct more than 3 million transactions — including ordering services, maintenance requests and billing inquiries — using the AT&T BusinessDirect portfolio.

The Stevie Awards organizes several of the world's leading business recognition shows, including the prestigious American Business Awards. Nicknamed the Stevies for the Greek word "crowned," this year's awards attracted more than 500 entries from companies of all sizes and in virtually every industry. The competition featured 27 categories for customer service and 41 categories for sales professionals.

"This year's honorees demonstrate that even in challenging economic times, it's possible for organizations to continue to shine in sales and customer service, the two most important functions in business: acquiring and keeping customers," said Michael Gallagher, president of the Stevie Awards.
