Russian Opera Mini users have become three times more

Opera Software today released a fresh report on the status and trends in mobile Internet in April 2009, based on the use of Opera Mini. Presenting to you the main provisions of this report:
In April 2009, Opera Mini browser benefited from more than 23.4 million people - on 1,5% more than a month earlier and 140% more than in April 2008
Last month, users viewed more than 8.7 billion Web pages. Thus the result of a one-year limitation is exceeded at 249%. Using Opera Mini to mobile devices has been downloaded a total of 151 million MB of data - to 295% more than a year earlier. Opera Mini is able to compress data by 90%. If they are not subjected to compression, users have to download about 1.4 petabyte of information.
Compared with April 2008, the number of users of Opera Mini in Russia increased by 82.9%, while the number of downloads of Web pages - to 205.5%. On average, Russians viewed 416 Web pages per month.
In April, the Russians have downloaded an average of 7.47 MB of data, while the average size of Web pages was 18.39 KB. If Opera Mini does not compress the data, this figure would increase to about 184 KB.
