China procurement value in Taiwan short of expectations

While Taiwan-based enterprises have rested large hopes on procurements in Taiwan made by business groups from China, such procurements made so far in 2009 were worth US$7.2 billion in total, falling far short of expectations, according to industry sources in Taiwan.

The procurement value is only 3.11% of Taiwan's export value, US$231.3 billion, for the same period, the sources indicated.
