HTC unveils windows Mobile 6.5-based HTC HD2

HTC has officially unveiled the Windows Mobile 6.5-based HTC HD2, which will be available soon from selected operators across Europe, before rolling out to other regions. The company announced in August that its HTC Touch2 would support Windows Mobile 6.5 when the platform launched (on October 6).

In addition to the new HTC HD2 and Touch2, newly purchased Touch Diamond2 and Touch Pro2 smartphones will include Windows Mobile 6.5, while upgrades will be offered to existing customers, the company said.

The HTC Touch2, Touch Diamond2 and Touch Pro2 with Windows Mobile 6.5 are available through selected operators across Europe now and will be rolling out to other regions in the coming months, said the company.

Customers with an original HTC Touch Diamond2 or Touch Pro2 will be able to update their phone via a new ROM which will be available from HTC's website in the coming weeks.

In other news, HTC has posted net profits of NT$17.1 billion, or NT$21.78 per share, on revenues of NT$103.8 billion in the first nine months of 2009.
