AT&T Wins MEF Carrier Ethernet Service Provider Award

AT&T Selected as Winner for the Best Service Portfolio.

AT&T* has been recognized with a prestigious 2009 MEF Carrier Ethernet Service Provider award for the Best Service Portfolio. Metro Ethernet Forum (MEF) is a global industry alliance comprising more than 155 organizations including telecommunications service providers, cable multiple system operators (MSOs), network equipment/software manufacturers, semiconductors vendors and testing organizations.

AT&T was selected as the winner of the Best Service Portfolio category, which is awarded to the service provider that, in the opinion of the judges, has provided the most extensive range of Ethernet products to the greatest possible number of customers within the markets it serves.

“This year’s Service Provider Award winners truly demonstrated the advances in Carrier Ethernet services, a continued growth segment of the telecommunications industry,” said Nan Chen, MEF President. “Our judges selected AT&T for its comprehensive, innovative and quality portfolio of Ethernet services.”

“We are honored to receive the MEF Service Provider Award,” said Sanford Brown, Vice President, AT&T Connectivity and Metro Network Services. “The award underscores the breadth of AT&T’s Ethernet services, our extensive experience and commitment to helping customers worldwide improve operational efficiencies, increase speed to market and build customer loyalty.”

AT&T provides the most comprehensive suite of Ethernet services in the industry that offer easily scalable bandwidth for last mile applications with bandwidth requirements ranging from 512k to 10G and above. AT&T Ethernet solutions provide simple and economical options for optimizing increasing bandwidth demands with Metro Ethernet, Switched Ethernet and Wide-area Ethernet services.

MEF annual Carrier Ethernet Service Provider Awards recognize excellence and leadership in the development, marketing and delivery of Carrier Ethernet services. The awards are determined by a judging panel comprised of up to 5 global and regional analysts, who are asked to rate and score each of the submissions relating to each award category. The winner of each category is the service provider with the highest combined score of all judges.

The MEF Carrier Ethernet Service Provider Awards for APAC, Americas and International – 2009, were announced at concurrent MEF service provider dinners in Kuala Lumpur and New York, held in conjunction with the MEF’s participation at Carrier Ethernet World APAC Congress and Light Reading Ethernet Expo respectively on November 11, 2009.

*AT&T products and services are provided or offered by subsidiaries and affiliates of AT&T Inc. under the AT&T brand and not by AT&T Inc.
