China leading search engine Baidu to cooperate with MediaTek, says paper

Baidu will partner with Taiwan's largest handset chip supplier MediaTek for the development of search service on MediaTek's handset platform targeting China's white-box market, according to a Chinese-language Commercial Times report.

This cooperation is expected to help Baidu expand the share of its mobile search used in MediaTek's handset platform, but it will not bring significant benefits to MediaTek's sales in the short term, the Taiwan-based newspaper said.
