Taiwan market: Nokia to launch N97 handset in June and more touchscreen models to follow

Nokia will launch its flagship touchscreen-enabled N97 handset in the Taiwan market in June, and plans to roll out more touchscreen models based on the Symbian S60 5.1 platform, according to Michael Hsu, general manager of Nokia Taiwan.

Hsu said he expects handset sales in the local market to pick up again in June after experiencing slow sales in April and May.

Overall, handset sales in the second half of 2009 will be better than in the first half, Hsu asserted.
