Chunghwa Telecom (CHT) will introduce an own-brand Android-powered smartphone by the end of 2009 targeting the entry-level segment with a suggested price tag of below NT$10,000 (US$311), according to market sources.
The CHT-branded Android smartphone will come with a 3.5-inch display in order to encourage use as an e-book reader, indicated the sources, noting that CHT has already launched two Android-powered phones in cooperation with HTC (High Tech Computer).
